Before you start with all that brand stuff, it’s crucial to define what ‘Brand’ means. What I teach is Brand is everything you are known for. Most people think that your logo is your brand…which it is in the tradition sense. The name Brand comes from when cattle was branded with a hot iron with a family symbol so there is no arguing the linage of the interchangable use of the word brand and logo.
With that settled, I’d argue that the logo is a visual representation of everything you do…and the 21st Century version of Brand means more than just the logo. So this is my approach from here on in, so if you were looking for tips on logos this isn’t the core material, even if it might be covered.
