What is Dogtooth

Dogtooth is a creative company—practical, hands-on, and focused on the physical side of brand experience. We’re not an agency. We’re not a brand consultancy. We’re a small, experienced team that designs, builds and delivers tangible work that lives in the real world.

That approach has taken us into branded environments of all kinds—retail spaces, offices, hospitality settings, event builds, industrial sites and motorsport paddocks. We’ve created installations for independent producers and global brands alike—including MINI, Channel 4, TED, Ginetta, Rovio, Microsoft and Ubisoft.

We’re always open to the right kind of project—especially when there’s a clear brand story to express and a space or surface to work with. We tend to get involved where physical context matters, and where design is tied to how people interact with a brand in everyday, human settings.

While we don’t take on traditional design commissions in isolation, we are developing a focused programme to help businesses clarify and apply their brand in the real world. It’s not a design service—it’s a structured way of aligning intention with execution, especially across environments and materials.

If that sounds like something you’re building, we’re interested.

You’ll also find further thinking on brand environments and physical design over on our blog—from practical ideas to observations from the field.

about us

Where did you get Dogtooth from?

Dogtooth was founded by Rick Jesse, inspired by an idea that took shape during his time working in a creative team. He and his colleagues often talked about starting a studio called Flat Cap Design—a tribute to their Yorkshire roots. While the original plan never came to life, Rick carried the essence of it forward. He founded Dogtooth, a name drawn from the houndstooth pattern woven into flat caps—and one that also nods to the distinctive interior of his favourite car, the Porsche 911.
